More funding for the National Tramway Museum

Following on from receiving funding from Arts Council England which will go towards improvements in the Great Exhibition Hall, the National Tramway Museum have announced that they have been awarded £210,610 through the DCMS/Wolfson Museums and Galleries Improvement Fund

Luas Cork preferred route revealed as another consultation is launched

The next light rail line in Ireland continues to progress with Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) having recently announced the preferred route as they launch another public consultation into the plans. Luas Cork is a proposed route which would from Ballincollig to Mahon Point with key destinations such as MTU, Cork University Hospital, UCC, Cork City Centre, Kent Station, Cork Docklands, Pairc Ui Chaoimh, Blackrock, and Mahon being connected.

London Trams operated sued over death of e-scooter rider

Legal action is being taken by the family of a 19-year-old e-scooter rider who died after being hit by a tram in 2022. Tram Operations Limited (TOL) are being sued for alleged negligence, with the family of Reuben Abakah seeking £200,000 in damages.

Rare Metro tickets found on ebay

Enthusiast Ian Chapman has recently discovered some rare Tyne and Wear Metro tickets on ebay which he has added to his extensive ticket collection. His large collection already includes over 40,000 used Metro tickets but some of the latest additions have an extra rarity value as they were printed with the date the day before the Metro actually opened!
