A new initiative from the West Midlands Metro will see Eco-islands installed at various tramstops across the network. This is part of the tram operator’s aim to “cultivate a cleaner, safer and more sustainable future for the region.”

Tramtown to remain closed permanently

Metrolink enjoys a personal best on Marathon Day

Manchester Metrolink has a new personal best with a record-breaking number of passengers carried on the trams on Sunday 19th April 2026. This was Manchester Marathon day and more than 200,000 passenger journeys were recorded on the day.
