Whilst work to repair the substation, which will allow tram services to resume in the future, continues the Heaton Park Tramway have announced that they will be opening their museum on a couple of dates this summer.
The museum will be open on both Sunday 5th July and Sunday 2nd August and as well as the displays telling the story of the tram in Greater Manchester, you will be able to climb on-board one of the trams as well as see the progress on the restoration of Manchester 173.
The fully stocked giftshop will also be open allowing you to grab a gift, with all proceeds going towards the tramway.
It is also hoped that there will be other attractions on offer during both days with more details of these to follow.
The Museum at the Heaton Park Tramway is located in the former Middleton Road tram shelter which now also houses the main workshop of the tramway as well as the shop.
