In Pictures: New advert for Supertram 111

South Yorkshire Supertram 111 is now carrying a new advert following the application of vinyls for Monzo. This advert replaces its previous design for Sumup.

The new advert is a very simple affair with the main body being red with white writing to publicise the product: “Get on. 15 million people have.” (and we don’t think they are talking about getting on the tram!)

Monzo replace SumUp as the sponsor of the tram and carries on 111’s relationship with adverts which started back in October 2010 and hasn’t had any gaps of fleet livery! East Midlands Trains were the first advertiser (October 2010-September 2017), then its had IKEA (September 2017-April 2018), Pretty Little Thing (two designs: April 2018-October 2024) and then SumUp (October 2024-July 2026).

111 is seen here at City Hall in its new advert for Monzo. Its working a Purple route service to Herdings Park – this was during the Tramlines Festival when a special service was running which is why there is a Purple route tram here. (Photograph by Stuart Cooke, 25th July 2026)
