New accessible shed tours are going to be taking place on the Volk’s Electric Railway in Brighton once a month for the remainder of the operating season. These tours will take place on the second Wednesday of the month, starting on Wednesday 8th July at 1200.
These tours are specifically aimed at disabled people, people who find train travel difficult, people who need quiet or extra support, and carers and support workers. The visit will be calm and unhurried and breaks can be taken during the tour as and when needed.
During the tour there will be a visit of the workshop and train shed, a talk from a member of staff about the railway, a chance to see the trains up close, and the chance to ask questions at any time.
The tours will cost £7 per person (carers are free) and will start at 1200 in the Viewing Gallery. Payment is made on the day but should be booked in advance by calling 01273 292 718. Tickets for travel on the railway must be purchased separately.
