In Pictures: A Lisbon tram in Lincolnshire

In the relatively recent past we have seen several trams from the Portuguese systems of Oporto and Lisbon make it over to the UK, some initially as a source of spare parts with others being restored to operational condition. One such example which has taken a bit of convoluted route to carry passengers is Lisbon 711 which can now be found at the Crowle Peatland Railway in Lincolnshire where it is used as hauled stock.

Nexus help out with restoration of Woodhorn Narrow Gauge Railway

Another delay for Douglas Horse Tramway extension business case

Earlier this year it was said that the Department of Infrastructure would be submitting a business case for the re-extension of the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway to the Sea Terminal to be heard at Tynwald’s May sitting. Now it probably won’t surprise you to hear that this hasn’t happened but the good news is that it should now be ready for June.

Edinburgh Trams to possibly be disrupted on Sunday 17th May

Update 17/5/26. No disruption to the service after all with Hearts losing at Celtic 3-1 meaning the title went to Glasgow after all.

Edinburgh Trams may have to operate a split service on Sunday 17th May – but its not known for certain if they will be yet as it is all dependent on whether Hearts FC win the Scottish Premier League title the previous day (and probably down to what VAR may have to say on the day!).
