Over the past few years Tiny Toon has popped up in Newcastle City Centre as a mini play village for children to explore during their summer holidays. It has included a replica new Metro train and that will be the case again in 2026 when it opens again from 20th July.
Sarah McCourt, Head of Communications and Marketing at Nexus, said: “We are delighted to once again be part of this amazing family experience that offers so much excitement over the summer period. As Kids Go Free with fare-paying adults on Metro, it’s brilliant that families from across the region can enjoy a fantastic free day out where kids can play and pretend to drive a Metro train – and travel there and back on the real thing.”
Tiny Toon is a miniature version of some of Newcastle’s most iconic, historic and landmark buildings and businesses, providing endless hours of play with themed props, branded dressing up outfits and scaled down buildings.
As well as the replica Metro train it also includes the Tyne Bridge, a Metro platform and station cube, a Newcastle Building Society, Eldon Square, the Pink Lane Bakery, Dakwala Indian restaurant and the Tyneside Cinema.
Tiny Toon can be found in Old Eldon Square alongside NE1’s Screen on the Green and the Stay and Play Zone. It will be open between 20th July and 31st August 2026.
