As previously mentioned, West Midlands Metro will once again be supporting the Great Birmingham Run and they have now announced details of a special service which will run on Sunday 3rd May 2026 to both get people to the event as well as ensuring participants can take part safely.
Two additional trams will run from Wolverhampton Station to Grand Central departing at 0600 and 0630 to help those taking part to get to the start line.
Because of the route of the run, and to make sure that all goes smoothly, trams will only be able to run between Wolverhampton and Grand Central until 1400. Alternate departures will go from Wolverhampton St George’s and Wolverhampton Station but Millennium Point will not be served until after 1400 (although the published timetable shows trams as still running to Millennium Point so make of that what you will!).
West Midlands Metro have also confirmed that they will run a Sunday timetable on both May Bank Holidays – 4th and 25th May.
