In Pictures: Double Blackpool Railcoaches at Carlton Colville

Blackpool Brush Railcoach 634 and Blackpool Marton VAMBAC 11 were the two trams paired together to operate services at the East Anglia Transport Museum, Carlton Colville on Sunday 21st September 2025. 634 has spent periods out of service during 2025 so the two haven’t operated together a huge amount recently but as these photos show the two Blackpool single-deckers were back in service together once more. Investigation launched after tram is sent onto wrong track at Nottingham Station

Nottingham Express Transit have announced that they have launched an investigation into a minor incident which saw a tram on the approach to Nottingham Station sent across points onto the opposite track. There was no collision as a result of the switch but NET will be investigating to see what was the cause.

In Pictures: Work continues on stop construction in Dudley

Autumn 2025 remains the planned opening date for the first phase of the West Midlands Metro Black Country line extension as far as Flood Street in Dudley and whilst testing has yet to get underway in anticipation of this construction work has been ongoing at various points of the line. This has include the laying of tracks, installation of overhead, and also the construction of the planned nine new stops.

Blackpool Tramway to run revised service during fireworks – part 2!

A few weeks ago we reported on how Blackpool Transport had plans to operate a revised service during the first night of the World Fireworks Championships on Saturday 13th September 2025. Only then for thunderstorms to cause it to be cancelled! So we’re still none the wiser whether this service will work during the crowds being on the Prom! But there will be a take 2 and a take 3 for the service as it will be working on the next two nights of the fireworks, including the rearranged first round.

Two CR4000s depart London Trams

The weekend of 13th and 14th September saw the departure of not one but two of London Trams’ Bombardier built CR4000 trams for repairs. Both 2542 and 2548 have been out of service for some time and the work needed is severe enough to not be able to be completed in-house and so the work has been contracted out.

New artwork on the Tyne and Wear Metro

A children’s cancer charity are the latest to showcase their art to help mark Childhood Cancer Awareness month. The “Invisible Journeys” artwork is on display at Tynemouth Metro Station and is the collaborative work of two local Tyneside charities, Children’s Cancer North and North Tyneside Art Studio.

In Pictures: Blackpool 013 gets a new partial advert

When Blackpool Transport said that they had now taken advertising in-house they also teased that they had bene talking to other local attractions to advertise on the trams, and the first of these has now been revealed with Flexity2 013 receiving a partial advertising livery for Hole in the Wand Mini Golf.

If you cast your mind back you may recall that it was reported that Nexus would be donating one of the redundant Metrocars to the Tyne and Wear Fire Service to help with training and it has now been confirmed that 4019 is the chosen unit, with it having being handed over on Tuesday 16th September 2025.
