NET offer warning over fake tram tickets

The continual battle over fare evasion on the Nottingham tram network seems to have taken a new twist with a number of websites currently offering fake tram tickets which are attempting to be used on NET services. In the wake of these fake tickets the firm has given a warning to anyone found using one of these.

The past few days have seen lots of new adverts appear on the Manchester Metrolink system with no fewer than four trams making their debuts with new vinyls on Monday 23rd June 2025. The latest trams to get adverts are 3003 (its first ever), 3038 (a direct replacement), 3094 and 3117.

Temporary timetable to be introduced in Nottingham

Trams will be running at a reduced frequency on Nottingham Express Transit for the next four weeks in an attempt to be able to provide a more reliable service following a recent spate of cancellations as a result of a tram shortage.

Blackpool combined train, tram and bus ticket available online

As from Monday 7th July anyone travelling by train to or from Blackpool will be able to add bus and tram travel onto their ticket when buying it online through Northern’s app, website, at ticket machines and from ticket offices. Although this add-on ticket has been available from ticket offices across the Northern network since 2022 this will be the first time it has been available online.

In Pictures: Blackpool Twin Trailer 684 opened up to the public

The North East Land Sea and Air Museums in Sunderland has been home to a selecion of trams – mostly ex-Blackpool – for a number of years with those trams once being owned by the North East Electrical Traction Trust. The tram all remain stored undercover in one of the buildings on site and haven’t changed appearance for some time, but one recent change has been the opening up of Blackpool Twin Trailer 684 to allow visitors to the museum to get on board once again.

Seaton 9 out in front for May mileage

The May mileage figures for the Seaton Tramway have been revealed and there isn’t really a surprise at the top of the list with one of three newest purpose built trams out in front – no. 9. But its what comes next in the list which is more of a surprise as it’s the oldest tram in the fleet (excluding those which have rebuilt from first generation tramcars) – no. 6!

Great Laxey Mine Railway become the new owners of historic MER rolling stock

The Great Laxey Mine Railway – owned by the Laxey and Lonan Heritage Trust – have announced that they have recently been gifted two items of rolling stock. The fact that a railway has been gifted rolling stock may not seem as if it belongs on a tram website but when those two items are historically significant vehicles from the Manx Electric Railway it certainly does!

NET 204 becomes the 2025 Community Hero’s Tram

Nottingham Express Transit Incentro 204 is carrying a new name after it was chosen to become the Community Hero’s Tram for 2025. It has been named in honour of Dr Marcellus Baz BEM, founder and CEO of the charity Switch Up, and charity organisation Pulp Friction who won following nominations from the people of Nottingham.

Since advertising began on the Blackpool Tramway over the years there have been a number of companies/attractions who have come back again and again. One of the original advertisers (when you speak of full ads and not just between deck or advert boxes) was Blackpool Zoo back in 1975 and now some 50 years later they are back again with new adverts on Flexity2 001.

Derailment in Sheffield causes delays

South Yorkshire Supertram services were disrupted during the evening of Thursday 19th June 2025 after 105 derailed at the Park Square delta junction. Whilst the tram was rerailed, and investigation started into the cause, revised services were introduced with no service possible across the junction into the city centre.
