Temporary timetable introduced on Supertram

A temporary timetable has been introduced on South Yorkshire Supertram’s Blue and Yellow routes in a bid to “provide a more reliable service for customers”. The decision to implement this timetable comes at the end of a week which has seen numerous cancelled services with staff shortages the main cause, and also comes after infrastructure problems had led to line closures earlier in the month.

North-south tramline consultation closes

The 12-week consultation into plans to extend the Edinburgh Trams from Granton to the Bioquarter via the city centre has now closed. The responses will now be analysed before the results are presented to the Transport and Environment Committee in 2026.

Get on board Feltham 355 with a new 360-degree virtual tour

The London Transport Museum have recently launched a new interactive experience on their website which will allow you to explore Metropolitan Feltham 355 inside and out. The tram – housed at the Museum’s Acton Store – has long been “off bounds” so this new experience will allow everyone to see exactly what the tram looks like, along with some history of trams in London and other key information.

In Pictures: The Heat is On for Blackpool 011

2025 has definitely been the year of the advert in Blackpool! Following the bringing of advertising in-house there has been a definite up-tick in the number of new adverts, whilst we have also seen a number of expired ads taken off trams. The latest tram to receive a new advert is 011 which has seen the application of an almost full wrap for Blackpool’s Winter Gardens. It is a dual advert with one side advertising Mamma Mia! (which is at the Opera House 28th April to 3rd May 2026) and the other Miss Saigon (playing at the Opera House from 30th June until 4th July 2026).

Trams return to The Point

Luas services are running between Connolly and The Point again following the completion of the reconstruction of George’s Dock Bridge. Trams retuned to this section of the Red line from the start of service on Friday 28th November, just over three months since they were last able to run.

Glasgow 488 become one with itself again!

What’s hat they say about London buses? You wait ages for one to turn up and then two come! Well, it seems the same could be said of Glasgow trams as no sooner do we bring an update on the restoration of Glasgow 1245 at Summerlee then there is a major development at the East Anglia Transport Museum in work to bring Glasgow 488 back into use.

City of Edinburgh Council look for record damages from lawyers

It was first reported following the release of Lord Hardie’s report into the first phase of Edinburgh Trams that the City of Edinburgh Council were considering legal action against the lawyers who had advised them during the project. And now reports are out there that they are seeking record damages – totaling up to £222 million.
