In Pictures: New advert round-up from Manchester

We return to Manchester Metrolink in this article as we have another round-up of new advert liveries wrapped around some of the trams in recent days and weeks. This time we see three more adverts which have been recently applied – 3041, 3103 and 3110 the trams which are carrying these latest vinyls.

As we look at the new adverts we’ll do so in number and indeed the first tram is a new one to be carrying advertising vinyls – 3041. Having spent the past 15 years since delivery (almost exactly 15 years as it arrived on 17th September 2011) in standard fleet livery it is now carrying its very first advert.

The advertiser is Jean Paul Gaultier in a mainly white design although the very centre of the tram (either side of the articulation) is red.

Its been over five years since 3103 last carried an advert but it has now returned to the group of non-standard liveried trams with it having recently received vinyls for Audible. It’s a two-ended advert with one end being black with orange writing and the other being orange with black writing.

Previous advertisers on 3103 have been Hits Radio 103 (June-October 2018) and Pretty Little Thing (October 2019-February 2021).

The third tram to receive a new advert is 3110, and for this tram it’s a direct replacement for its first ad for Footlocker. It is now carrying a Bee Network livery with it promoting free school trip travel by tram (a new initiative from the local authority). The colours of this advert are mainly yellow – although once again its not a yellow which matches the fleet livery!

On the other side of adverts we have also recently seen 3042 lose its ad for asics whilst 3076 is also back in fleet livery after its Love Connects Everyone livery was removed.

The black end of 3103’s Audible advert is seen with the tram at Deansgate-Castlefield.

And here is the orange/gold/yellow end.
