And just like that we reach the end of the fleet on the Great Orme Tramway as in this edition of “Meet the Trams” we take a look at no. 7.
What can be added about 7 which hasn’t already been written about 6?! Not a lot! It was used for the first time on 8th July 1903 when the upper section of the tramway opened to the public and with it being connected to 6 its history follows the same path.
That includes being involved in the same two collisions (on the account that if it’s a tram v tram collision and there are only two trams on your section there’s only two vehicles which can be involved!) in April 2000 and September 2009.
7 carries the name St Trillo, a patron saint and founder of churches at Llandrillo, Denbighshire and Llandrillo yn Rhos. He lived in the 6th century.
