In Pictures: Trams and poppies in Edinburgh

As we pause to remember on Remembrance Sunday any tramways across the UK are also showing their respects. This includes free travel for armed services personnel and veterans on both Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day itself on 11th November as well as trams being adorned with poppies. One such system is Edinburgh Trams who have once again this year been displaying poppies in the cab windows of their trams.

270 still carries an advert for Camera Obscura – its certainly an advert you can’t miss with its bright colours!. It seen in this view at Princes Street with the poppy displayed on the lower left hand side of the windscreen.

Another dusk shot at Princes Street where we see 272 en route to the Airport. This is one of the 10 to advertise Emirates, adverts which have seen revisions on the full height sections this year. The poppy on this tram is more central. (Both Photographs by Roy Calderwood, 4th November 2026)
