We return with another set of photos in our “Trams &” series for the next few weeks. This series sees a picture of a tram alongside another form of transport and we start off in the West Midlands with a typical entry into the series of a tram with a bus.
This photo was taken at the new Albert Street tramstop and was during testing of the first phase of the Millennium Point extension, ahead of its opening in the spring. We see Urbos100 47 heading up to the temporary terminus as three buses are just about to pass as well.
47 was in an advertising livery for Xero at this time which was on the tram between March and April 2026. This was a test/training run with the tram having in effect terminated at Bull Street (hence the destination display on the rear) to come up here. When it comes back down it will turn onto Corporation Street and return to being in service as it heads through to Edgbaston Village.
The front most bus is being operated by Arriva Midlands North and is working on route 110 which will soon terminate in Birmingham. This route starts in Tamworth. The bus is an Alexander Dennis product being an Enviro400.
