Our journey on the London Trams system continues with the latest edition of “Stop by Stop” and this time we come to the last of the stops on the central Croydon loop at Wellesley Road.
The tram leaves the stop at West Croydon and takes a sharp turn onto Station Road before coming to a set of lights which may see us have to wait a short time for them to turn in our favour. When they do its another sharp turn as we go back on ourselves and the Central Croydon loop truly meets its description. We are now on Wellesley Road as we are joined by lots of other traffic before we go to the left hand side and come to the single platform stop of Wellesley Road.
The platform here is fairly cramped but it still does have all the usual features, including validators, passenger information screens, posters, lighting, shelters and seating.
After the tram leaves Wellesley Road stop it continues until the end of the road and then turns to the left back onto George Street and onto the approach to East Croydon.
