A trip to… Edinburgh Trams

We take another trip into Edinburgh for a selection of images of the trams in action. In fact this is not a single trip with the images taken on several dates during the early part of March 2026. Roy Calderwood is our guide.

On 2nd March 2026 260 (advertising Emirates is heading to Newhaven when seen arriving at St. Andrew Square. The building with all the statues was originally the headquarters of the British Linen Bank and more recently, a Bank of Scotland branch. Now it is the Gleneagles Townhouse (hotel).

255 on the left is heading for Newhaven while 270 on the right is for the Airport on 7th March 2026. Both trams carry full advertising wraps – for Emirates and Camera Obscura respectively.

Same date as the previous photo – 7th March 2026 – and we’re at Princes Street. 263 is captured closest to the camera with a service to the Airport with its attractive advert for Royal Yacht Brittania. One of the ten trams which advertises Emirates is on the right.

This image is taken at Foot of the Walk where 264 with an advert for The Real Mary Kings Close stops enroute to Newhaven. This photo comes from 9th March 2026. (All Photographs by Roy Calderwood)
