In Pictures: Balloon 708 gets ready for the winter

A few weeks ago when we reported on the 90th birthday celebrations for Blackpool Balloon 708 at the Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft it was also mentioned that the volunteers at the museum were planning to protect the tram for winter. This has now taken place as seen on another visit to the museum.

708 is stored outside at the museum which will its permanent home when it is fully converted into a Playtram for the younger visitors to the museum. As plans continue to be developed for its conversion its been necessary to just make sure the tram is fully watertight and to aid with this over the winter sheeting has been put on the top of the tram.

Ready for the winter and its eventual conversion to its all new role, 708 stands at Sandtoft with its new sheeting now applied. (Photograph by Trevor Hall, 19th October 2024)
