We go modern and light rail for the next few weeks of “Picture in Time” with a few images taken on the Docklands Light Railway in the 21st century.
The first of our images shows class B92, 64 and an unidentified sister at Poplar. This unit was part of a batch of trains built by BN Construction in Brugge, Belgium between 1992 and 1995 with a total of 47 being constructed. All of this class are due to be withdrawn and replaced by a new fleet of state of the art trains being built at the moment by CAF and due to be introduced at some point although their entry into service has been delayed. At the time of this image 64 was in a special pride livery which was in place of the standard red and blue livery.
