More investment into the South Yorkshire Supertram network will be taking place during October with Yellow route and Tram-Train services set to be impacted on two consecutive weekends at the end of the month.
Work will be taking place as follows:
- Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th October – Arena/Olympic Legacy Park to Meadowhall Interchange and Rotherham Parkgate
- Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th October – Cricket Inn Road to Meadowhall Interchange and Rotherham Parkgate
Details of the planned changes for first set of works – which will be taking place on the overhead at Valley Centertainment – have been announced and will see the following changes:
- Yellow route services will run Middlewood to Arena only
- Tram-Train services will not run
- Blue and Purple route services are unaffected
- Two replacement bus services will run:
- YE1 – up to 3 services an hour between Fitzalan Square and Meadowhall on Saturday and 2 services an hour in the evening on Sunday
- TT1 – 2 services an hour between Fitzalan Square and Rotherham Parkgate via Meadowhall on Saturday and up to 3 services an hour on Sunday
Anyone who is travelling further than Arena on the Yellow/Tram-Train route is advised to change at Fitzalan Square for the replacement bus service.
The second weekend of works will see the overhead at Attercliffe attended to along with the improvement of the ballasted rail close to Nunnery Square Depot. During those works the following change will be in place:
- Yellow route services will run Middlewood to Cricket Inn Road only
- Tram-Train services will not run
- Blue and Purple route services are unaffected
- Two replacement bus services will run:
