Oporto 273 has become the fourteenth passenger tram to have been used at the Crich Tramway Village in 2025 following the conclusion of a truck overhaul.
273 – the only non-British operational tramcar currently at Crich – had been used in 2024 but required a truck overhaul and so was removed from service at the start of this year to allow that to happen. The work has now taken place to allow it to return to service again and bring the operating fleet further up to strength.
Work is also continuing on replacing arc chutes on other trams planned to be operational in 2025, and as this work is concluded more will be commissioned for use.
The 14 trams which have now been used are: London County Council 1, Chesterfield 7, Glasgow 22, Blackpool 40, Sheffield 74, Newcastle 102, Blackpool 166, Blackpool 167, Blackpool 236, Oporto 273, Leeds 345, Leeds 399, Blackpool 630 and London Transport 1622.
