“Around the World in Trams” continues this evening with another view from Warsaw in Poland.
Having relied on a fleet of mainly Konstal built trams, the early years of the 21st century saw a change for Warsaw as they went to Polish company PESA for what would become their first fleet of 100% low floor trams. They were the first company to order any 120Na Swing trams when they submitted an order for 186, with the first arriving from 2010. Since then 445 have been built for operators mainly in Poland, but also with examples in Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Russia.
The below photo shows 3229. This tram was built in 2012 and remains in service in 2026.
