The first couple of days of May have once again seen trams being moved between West Midlands Metro depot at Wednesbury and the Very Light Rail Innovation Centre in Dudley with another one heading that way before one came back. The two moves took place on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd May 2025.
As has been the case in most recent moves to and from Dudley the tram going there was the first to be moved (a complete opposite to how it was to start with). This was 18 – a tram which had been out on the line as recently as the last full week of April – which was loaded onto the lorry at Wednesbury on 1st May and made the relatively short trip across to Dudley.
Having arrived there it was unloaded and before being moved into the workshop, 28 was readied to return to Wednesbury. Jasper Carrot – as its still named – was loaded the same day although was not able to leave until Friday 2nd May (partly due to severe delays on the roads in the local area after a lorry hit a bridge). That it duly did and it was back at the depot to be unloaded, and then shunted by fellow Urbos3 25.
Other trams currently away from Wednesbury include 26 and 30, with the former confirmed at Worksop.

Very interesting article.
Do you have any idea of the whereabouts of Number 43-this is the only one I haven’t seen.
It has not bee noted on Trainlogger for almost a month.
Many Thanks.
43 is at the South end of the depot visible from the mainline when passing ,along with 22
