In Pictures: Oporto 196 in service on the truncated Beamish Tramway

Tram services at Beamish continue to be running on a truncated tramway with the section from the Entrance to the Town via Pockerley remaining closed. No official word yet on when trams will once again be able to run around the complete circuit but in the meantime, the service is running Entrance-Foulbridge-Town with trolley turning required at each end. Wednesday 11th December saw Oporto 196 in use along with Sunderland 16 as seen in these images from Trevor Hall.

The trolley is turned on Oporto 196 after its run through the Town after decanting passengers.

Sunderland 16 waits at Foulbridge/Home Farm as it returns to the Entrance. Note the Christmas lights hanging from the shelter.

A stop sign on the tramway down to Pockerley at the Entrance. Tree felling is also being undertaken on the left. (All Photographs by Trevor Hall, 11th December 2024)
