Out and About: South Yorkshire Supertram – July 2024

We go “Out and About” again and this is the first of a two part edition where we take a look at trams passing by in Sheffield City Centre.

112 received this special advert extoling its green credentials back in the Stagecoach days (June 2021) and although there is now no mention of Stagecoach the vinyls remain in place as the boast is still the same. Working on the Yellow route to Meadowhall in this view at Cathedral.

120 is another tram which carries a special livery. Added in September 2023 this inclusivity livery featuring the colours of the LGBT flag and the message “Bringing People Together” is seen on the tram as it heads away from Cathedral bound for Meadowhall.

Of course the fleet on Supertram is made up of two types of vehicle which includes seven Citylink Tram-Trains. Some of these are dedicated to the Tram-Train service to Rotherham Parkgate but others have conventional tram wheel profiles and can be used anywhere on the normal tram system. 399 206 is one of the latter as seen here with a Blue route service to Halfway.
