Out and About: Beamish – June 2024

A heritage tram edition of “Out and About” for you today as we find some new photo opportunities at Beamish.

This visit coincided with a two tram service on the Beamish Tramway and with a number of school parties at the museum it was two high capacity cars out. One of those was Sunderland 16 which is seen passing the new 1950s town. Not long before the date of this visit hoardings had been removed to open up Front Street to visitors and the Grand is now likely to be in the background of a lot of photos!

With the opening up of this entrance to Front Street there is also a new photo opportunity for visitors. We look down the road towards the tramway and see the second tram in service on this day, Sheffield 264, passing by. (Both Photographs by Trevor Hall, 13th June 2024)
