The Pretty Little Thing days are over on South Yorkshire Supertram after the one remaining tram – 111 – returned to service with a new advert. The tram now advertises Sumup in a black and white design.
According to Wikipedia Sumup is a global financial technical company which supports more than 3.5 million merchants worldwide. It operates business tools created specifically for the micro and nano segment.
The advert – which like the recent advert for e-on features no window vinyls – is white at one end and black at the other. The main central section also includes the slogan “24 hours in a day. One business to run”.
Over the years 111 is no stranger to advertising liveries, indeed it was last in fleet livery around 14 years ago! It has previously advertised East Midlands Trains (October 2010-September 2017), IKEA (September 2017-April 2018) and then Pretty Little Thing (two slightly different designs from April 2018 to October 2024).
The removal of the Pretty Little Thing vinyls follows the previous removal of those on 118 for the same company and means for the first time in six and a half years there isn’t a pink Pretty Little Thing tram running in Sheffield. It also marks the end of the company advertising on UK trams, they had ads on 003 (August 2018-December 2023) and 016 (August 2018-March 2024) in Blackpool and 3103 (October 2019-February 2021) in Manchester.
The black is actually dark green.
