Richard Brooks has been appointed to the board of Midland Metro Limited (MML). He has over 40 years of experience in the rail industry and is the latest Non Executive Director on the board of the operator of the West Midlands Metro network as it prepares for future expansion.
He is a former Customer Experience Director at West Midlands Trains and was previously a Commercial Director at London Midland. He has also recently been a Non-Executive Director and Trustee of Stour Vale Academy Trust.
Phil Hewit, MML Chair, said: “As lead Executive Director for the West Midlands Railway business unit at West Midlands Trains, he played a lead role in enhancing the customer experience across 122 stations and on over 800 train services a day. His extensive experience in strategy development, communications and stakeholder management will prove invaluable as we look forward to helping even more people discover the many benefits of travelling by tram as the system grows.”
Richard added: “I feel honoured to serve on the board, particularly at such an exciting time for the Metro. I’m really looking forward to helping the network play an even greater role in the future social and economic prosperity of the region.”
