For this edition of “Trams &” we feature two modern vehicles.
We are at Mitcham Junction on the London Trams Wimbledon line and this view looks across the two track railway line and station towards the tramway which just changes from single to double track at this location.
On the far side is London Trams 2532 which is just arriving at the stop from Wimbledon. This is one of 24 CR4000 trams built by Bombardier for the opening of the line (built 1998/9, entering service 2000) and is in the standard fleet livery of green, white and blue.
Closer to us is a Southern class 377 EMU which has just arrived at the station with a service to Dorking. Its 377 626 and like the tram this too is a Bombardier product being built in 2012/3 at Derby.
