In Pictures: New pointwork at East Anglia Transport Museum

We reported back in May that the East Anglia Transport Museum had welcomed a set of new points all the way from New Zealand. Now some two months later and the trackwork is being worked on in preparation for its installation on the tramway extension.

These points have been donated to the East Anglia Transport Museum by the Wellington Tramway Museum and made the very lengthy journey from New Zealand earlier this year. In a way it is a homecoming of sorts for the track as it is clearly marked as being manufactured by Hadfields of Sheffield.

The track is a pair of three way points and once ready it is planned that it will be installed to allow both lines of the new tram depot to be connected up and also providing a turnout for the new tram line which will run around the extended land acquired by the museum.
