Services on the West Midlands Metro were disrupted for several hours on Wednesday 12th June because of an overhead line fault close to Dudley Street. Whilst repairs took place a split service was operated on the line.
The problem was first reported on the West Midlands Metro X account shortly before 1130 with it confirmed no trams could run between Black Lake and West Bromwich Central. A split service was operated instead with trams running Edgbaston Village to West Bromwich Central and from Black Lake to Wolverhampton Station. The usual bus ticket acceptance plans were put into place once again.
The problem was with a broken parafil rope on the northbound line at Dudley Street. These parafil ropes used to be seen all across the network but have more recently been replaced in most locations except those close to bridges.
A full service resumed not long after 1500.
