Does anyone want an OO-scale tram layout? We have been contacted by contributor Geoff Pickles who is looking to dispose of his model tram layout as he is no longer able to maintain it and is now looking to dispose of it. Read on for more details and photos of what is on offer.
The layout was started in 2010 and had largely reached its present state by 2014. Work on it then ceased and Geoff has now taken the decision to dispose of the layout to any interested parties. The cost of materials and tools etc. was around £700 but Geoff will listen to offers in the region of £50-£100. The buyer would need to collect it from Colby, Isle of Man or can be sent by carrier at the buyer’s expense.
Details of the layout are:
- Baseboard is 120 x 80 centimetres; there is a close-fitting box cover for transport that is 30 cm deep.
- Two foldable steel trestles that raise the baseboard to a height of 85 cm above floor level, for ease of working.
- Power supply is by live overhead.
The sale includes: –
- Working Bachmann model of Birkenhead 70, with pantograph.
- Transformer and controller.
- Spare overhead fittings, wire, etc., more than sufficient to complete the repairs.
- Sheets of road and footpath paving.
- Book and DVD on tramway modelling.
- Many tools, including
- Soldering-iron with stand and toolset, plus solder and solder-paint.
- Mini electric drill.
- Saws, files, tinsnips, and many others.
Photos below show the layout in its current condition. More details can be provided on request and prospective buyers are welcome to visit Colby, by arrangement, to view the items.
If you are interested please either leave a comment below or email gareth@britishtramsonline.co.uk so that we can pass your details on to Geoff.
