Manchester Metrolink have announced that they will be introducing a new revised timetable from 14th September. This won’t be a return to the 12-minute frequency on all lines – although they are still working towards that being implemented again in the future – but will see a change to service patterns, including additional “peak” trams on some routes.
In a way the new timetable pattern is a return to previous series with the Eccles line returning to terminating at Piccadilly (as it was when it first opened) whilst it will also be back to Bury services running through to Ashton-under-Lyne.
From 14th September the all-day service will be:
- Altrincham to Etihad Campus
- Bury to Ashton-under-Lyne
- Piccadilly to Eccles (via MediaCityUK outside peak times)
- Rochdale Town Centre to East Didsbury (via 2CC)
- Manchester Airport to Victoria (via 1CC)
- The Trafford Centre to Crumpsall (via 2CC)
Then part-day (peak-time) services will run as follows:
- Altrincham to Bury (via 1CC)
- East Didsbury to Shaw & Crompton (via 2CC)
- MediaCityUK to Piccadilly
The part-day services will run between 0700 and 2000 Monday to Friday and 0900 to 1830 on Saturday. They don’t run on a Sunday.
All routes will run every 15 minutes, with the additional part-day services this means certain routes see a tram every 7.5 minutes at the busiest times.
Additional capacity will continue to be provided for football matches and other major events.
