In Pictures: More adverts in Manchester

You don’t often go many days without a new advert being applied on Manchester Metrolink and so in this article we head back to the UK’s largest tram network to see another couple of adverts which have recently been added. The latest trams to receive ads are 3100 and 3109.

3100 had only recently been returned to fleet livery after losing its JD Sports advert but that didn’t last long with it now promoting various Marvel character games you can enjoy on the PS5 (including Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine).

As its advertising numerous games its got various different sections with reds, blacks and yellows all seen on the tram. As usual the ends are still in fleet livery and it does also include vinyls on the windows.

This is the fifth advert on 3100. Previous adverts have been for Vodafone (June 2018-December 2019), The Hundred (June-August 2025), xtb (February-April 2026), JD Sports (June-August 2026).

The other new advert is on a tram which hasn’t previously received a wrap, 3109.  Its now carrying a floral design for Manchester Airport Singapore Airlines and marks the start of a daily flight between Manchester and Singapore – the first time they have flown seven days a week and comes shortly after they celebrated 40 years of flying from Manchester Airport.

The East Didsbury line was the place to be for new adverts on this visit it would appear as 3109 could also be found operating on that route. With its Manchester Airport Singapore Airlines advert affixed its at St Peter’s Square.

Not previously illustrated on these pages is the Footlocker advert on 3110. We remedy that with this image as the tram runs along Aytoun Street with a Piccadilly to Bury service. (All Photographs by Alan Absolom, 25th August 2026)
