In Pictures: West Midlands Metro 47 receives a Monzo advert

Monzo – the British online bank – have doubled the tram systems they are advertising on with West Midlands Metro 47 joining South Yorkshire Supertram 111 in carrying the red vinyls.

47’s advert is very similar to that carried on Supertram 111 and again uses the “Get on. 15 million people have.” wording. The one easily noticeable difference is that the West Midlands Metro version features some vinyls on the windows with a Monzo bank card featuring (although this does only cover a small section of the window).

Unusually wrapped in the depot yard rather than within the workshop building, 47 was spotted having the vinyls being applied on 7th August before it entered service the following day.

This is 47’s third advert – all in 2026 – coming after itv (January-February 2026) and Xero (March-April 2026).

Its not often that you actually see the act of the wrapping taking place, but with it happening outside the depot this shot was possible. (Photograph by Andy Walters, 7th August 2026)

Just a day later and 47 was in service. This is West Bromwich Central. (Photograph by Andy Walters, 8th August 2026)
