Manchester Metrolink M5000 3120 – which was once the highest numbered tram in the fleet, until the 2018 order for 27 more trams – has been involved in a collision with a car on the Ashton-under-Lyne line.
The collision took place on the afternoon of Friday 7th August along Droylsden Road between the stops at Droylsden and Audenshaw. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result.
Following the incident trams on the Ashton-under-Lyne route only ran as far as Etihad Campus with Metrolink tickets being accepted on local Bee Network buses whilst it was cleared.
The extent of the damage to 3120 is not currently known.
