West Midlands Metro services were unable to run between Bull Street and Millennium Point/Edgbaston Village for a period of time on Tuesday 28th July 2026 following overhead line damage close to Lower Bull Street.
The problem was first reported on West Midland Metro’s X feed just before 1500 on 28th July and it wasn’t until the start of service on 29th July that the problem was resolved allowing a full service to resume.
The exact issue with the overhead is not known.
Whilst initially services from Wolverhampton were able to run as far as Bull Street, later on in the day trams turned at St Chad’s. The change in terminus was put down to the need to complete an emergency switching program in the area.
