Seaton Tramway look to the future with depot expansion project

The Seaton Tramway are preparing for the future by unveiling a project to expand their current depot, which will ultimately create space for three new trams. They already have some funding in place but have also launched a fundraising campaign to help them reach the target.

The extension will be built at the rear of the current building (the part furthest away from the tramway) and is planned to safeguard the unique heritage tramway for generations to come.

It is expected to cost £92,000 in total with the Swire Foundation having already supported the project to the tune of £25,000 whilst the Seaton Tramway will be providing £30,000 towards the work.

That leaves a shortfall of £37,000 and that is where the fundraising campaign comes in.

Donations can be made through the Seaton Tramway website at https://www.tram.co.uk/donate or through Just Giving at https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/riversidedepot.

Every donation – regardless of size – will help the tramway reach the target and will all help them secure the future of the Seaton Tramway.
