This is the last edition of “Around the World in Trams” which features a photo from the Mattapan Line operated by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority.
And in the below photo we see one of the PCCs which once ran the service on the 2.6 mile long Mattapan Line in store in the sidings at Mattapan. As can be clearly seen in this photos, 3262 was involved in a collision on 29th December 2017 which saw it receive significant damage.
According to an investigation which took place after the collision – which involved two PCCs – it was said that it was due to operator error with the driver later being charged. 17 passengers suffered minor injuries.
3262 remains stored and as seen here was visible from public areas.
