Picture in Time: Croydon Tramlink 2538

In this edition of “Picture in Time” we again head to Croydon as we take a look at one of the trams when it was still operating in the original red and white livery.

And this week we feature 2538 in a photo taken at Lloyd Park. Whilst the tram is still in the original fleet livery it has already lost its original roller blinds and is now fitted with the electronic destination displays. Those displays tell us that the tram is working on route 3 to New Addington.

2538 was delivered to Croydon on 25th January 1999 and remains in service today, although there are now plans afoot to replace these original Bombardier trams with a procurement process having been started.
