Seaton Tramway May mileage sees 9 lead the way

The end of another month and the latest Seaton Tramway newsletter tells us once again which trams had been used in service over the previous month. And this time its 9 which was used the month with the tram which had that honour in April not turning a wheel in service!

9 managed to run 750 miles during May – that is the equivalent of 125 trips along the line – moving it up from third place in April! 10 again has to settle for second place with it running 738 miles and the podium positions were rounded off with 8 which operated for 636 miles.

Whereas April had seen 11 at the top of the charts (running 984 miles), in May it managed to run a total of 0 miles! Presumably the tram has been enjoying some maintenance ahead of the forthcoming busy summer season.

And 11 wasn’t the only tram not to be used during the 31 days of May as enclosed saloons 14 and 19 also recorded 0 miles.

Of note is that one tram did return to service after its winter maintenance with 6 running 96 miles. The tram enjoyed an overhaul and repaint at Riverside Depot and now looks resplendent once more!
