In Pictures: Blackpool Marton VAMBAC 11 returns to service

The East Anglia Transport Museum have a fifth tram to call upon in service now following the first use of Blackpool Marton VAMBAC 11 for this season on Sunday 31st May 2026.

11 had in fact run on 1st January 2026 when the East Anglia Transport Museum open their doors, but that is strictly the 2025 season so 31st May is in fact the first time it had been used in passenger service in the 2026 season.

Since it last ran it has enjoyed workshop attention which has included an overhaul of its air compressor. It has also had work on its resilient wheel rubbers.

It now joins fellow Blackpool streamliner, Brush Railcoach 634, Amsterdam 474, London Transport 1858 and Sheffield 513 in being available for service. And all five are down on the tramcar rota for June at various times (with two scheduled for service on each opening day).

The trolley is turned on 11 as it stands at Chapel Road.

11 sets off from the terminus with Blackpool Brush Railcoach 634 behind at the stop.
