In Pictures: A Bank Holiday weekend in Suffolk

Another visit to the East Anglia Transport Museum with images taken over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend – Sunday 24th and Monday 25th May 2026. Included in the tram output was popular duo Amsterdam 474 and Blackpool 634, whilst we also see trolleybuses and the East Suffolk Light Railway in operation. Bryan Grint is the photographer.

Amsterdam 474 sits at Chapel Road with Bournemouth trolleybus 286 for company as they both wait until their next journeys.

474 is now joined by 634 at Chapel Road as the two single-deckers pose before the Dutch tramcar heads off into the woods.

No. 6 Thorpeness brings its train through the former Woodside terminus of the East Suffolk Light Railway on its way to the crossing over the tram tracks which access the new site and onto the railway extension.

Bank Holiday Monday itself as we see 634 stabled on the depot fan.

634 looks on at fellow Blackpool tramcar, Marton VAMBAC 11.
