In Pictures: Edinburgh Trams 277 gains new advert

Once an event being advertised on a tram in many places across the UK has happened it’s very quick that it is removed, and so is the case again on Edinburgh Trams. 277 had been advertising Scottish Rugby and specifically the big Women’s 6 Nations match against England which was held at Murrayfield in April but that has now been stripped and replaced by a new full wrap for Vision Scotland.

With everything nowadays being about “bold visions” for the future you may think that is exactly what Vision Scotland is promoting, but no they are actually a company who specialise in laser eye surgery. The advert is a full wrap and that does include the usual full height vinyls on sections 3 and 5 of the tram. Maybe they are trying to gain a bit of extra business when people look through those windows and suddenly think I need to sort my eyesight out?!

This becomes the ninth different advert that 277 has carried. It started off with an advert for C R Smith in September 2017 and since then has also advertised Parabola My Edinburgh Park, Edinburgh International Festival, Hard Rock Café, BT – Spirit of Scottish Rugby, Hard Rock Café (Messi Chicken Sandwich), Port of Leith Distillery, Scottish Rugby, and now Vision Scotland.

277’s new colourful advert is seen here at West End with it heading to the Airport.

Looking along the side of the tram and this is one of the full height sessions with the slogan “See Clearer, Cherish Longer”.

And further along the tram we are also told to “See Clearer, Live Louder”. (All Photographs by Roy Calderwood, 30th April 2026)
