In Pictures: Up close with Edinburgh Trams 275’s advert

Having been the market leader in a ever-changing selection of adverts, 2026 has been a very quiet year for Edinburgh Trams with no all new adverts seen as yet (and we’re halfway through the third month of the year!). Indeed the only changes have been a few revisions to existing adverts – 251 which advertises St James Quarter, 254 advertising Uniqlo and 275 which carries vinyls for Walkers Shortbread. In this article we take a closer look at the current version of 275’s advert.

275 has been advertising Walkers Shortbread since November 2025, with its first design being Christmas themed. But as if to prove that shortbread is not just for Christmas, come the new year and it received a revised advert which still features former tennis star Sir Andy Murray but has lost the Christmas shaped shortbread on the advert.

This first photo shows 275 arriving at Haymarket with a service for the Airport. This is the current version of the Walkers Shortbread advert. (Photograph by Howard Waite, 28th February 2026)

Looking at a bit more detail of the advert with the Walker’s traditional tartan background, pieces of very large shortbread and Sir Andy Murray.

And then further along the tram we see the other full height section of the advert which tells us that its “A wee bit of Scotland that’s come a long way”. (Photographs x2 by Roy Calderwood, 13th March 2026)
