South Yorkshire Supertram service change: Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th January 2026

Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th January will see changes to the service on South Yorkshire Supertram to allow Network Rail to complete essential bridge repairs close to Meadowhall South.

The work will see Network Rail replacing cladding underneath the Sheffield Road bridge, which crosses both the railway and tramlines  between Meadowhall South and Carbrook.

On both days the following service will run:

  • Blue – normal service Halfway to Malin Bridge
  • Purple – normal service Cathedral to Herdings Park
  • Yellow – revised service Middlewood to Arena
  • Tram-Train – will not run

There will be no trams between Arena and Meadowhall, or Arena and Rotherham Parkgate.

Replacement buses will run:

  • TT1 – Fitzalan Square to Rotherham Parkgate calling close to all tramstops
  • YE1 – Fitzalan Square to Meadowhall calling close to all tramstops

Anyone travelling beyond Arena is advised to change to and from the tram at Fitzalan Square rather than heading to Arena itself to change modes.

Normal services are planned to resume on Monday 12th January 2026.
