Time for another “Around the World in Trams” which again features a photo from the Italian city of Rome.
In the below image we see Fiat Cityway 9111 at Staz Trastevere working a route 3 service to Valle Giulia.
This is one of 28 trams built for the opening of line 8 in Rome. They are 70% low-floor and can now be seen in regular use on both line 8 as well as line 2. 9111 was built in 1997 but was taken out of service in 2018, and remains stored in Rome today.

I gather that the trams in Rome are currently out of service until sometime in December owing to work taking place near the depot at Porta Maggiore. There were some good 1957 Rome tram shots in the film Nights of Cabiria shown on Talking Pictures 26 November.
