For a period from the middle of March until early May 2025, the West Midlands Metro was home to four trams carrying advertising vinyl wraps. On a warm and sunny spring morning – Tuesday 8th April for the record – all four were in action on the same day and were captured in the sunshine as they operated on the line between Edgbaston Village and Wolverhampton Railway Station. Michael Morton took the photos.

45 is the longest lived vinyl wrap with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra adverts being added to the tram in April 2023. This image shows the tram and its vinyls at Library on the Birmingham Westside extension as it works a service to Wolverhampton.

58 receives this advert for Birmingham City University in September 2024 and still retains the dark vinyls in April 2025. Here we see 58 approaching Town Hall as it makes its way through the city centre and then finally onto Wolverhampton.

When 58 received its Birmingham City University advert it replaced vinyls for KFC. KFC obviously thought it was a good idea to advertise on the trams as come March 2025 and it was back with a new ad, this time carried by 53.

The most recent advert is this one on 57 for the National Trust and their annual Blossom Watch campaign. Only applied in mid-March 2025, this is another returning advertiser to the Metro as they had one at the same time in 2025 as well. This is Edgbaston Village.
