Consultation launched into whether dogs should be let on Supertram

Could dogs be allowed to travel on board the South Yorkshire Supertram network? The South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) have recently launched a consultation to find out the views of the public to see whether it is a move which would be popular.

Currently only either assistance dogs or dogs in a carry cage can be carried on the trams, but that could change depending on the results of the consultation which is live now on the SYMCA website.

The SYMCA say that this is part of their commitment to improving the service and passenger experience since the network was brought back into public control in March 2024.

The consultation remains open until Monday 3rd March 2025 and is open to anyone, including those who don’t live in South Yorkshire.
