Trams &: South Yorkshire Supertram 102 & bus

In this latest edition of “Trams &” we are off to Sheffield and once again it’s a tram with a bus which is featured.

This image was taken on 28th August 2024 during engineering works on the Supertram system which had meant that there were tram replacement buses in operation. We’re at Hillsborough here and with trams not able to continue along Middlewood Road to the Middlewood Park and Ride terminus, the bus on the left will be completing the journey for anyone who wants to make their way to any of the stops along the line.

The bus is a Wright StreetDeck double decker which had only recently been transferred to First’s Sheffield operations having been deemed surplus to requirements at its former home in Leeds. It was new in West Yorkshire in 2018.

And our tram interest is provided by Siemens-Duewag 102 which will soon be travelling to Malin Bridge on the Blue route. With Middlewood closed all Yellow route trams were also being diverted that way during this period.
